GKM Training Institute offers training programs for people who wish to enhance their understanding and deepen their skill in the spirit of counsel. Our GKMTI Addiction Counselor Certificate Program gives you the knowledge and experience to become certified in Addiction counseling.
Our SAC program meets the educational and training requirements established according to regulations from the Alcohol and Drug Certification Board of Georgia (ADACBGA) and the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) . It was developed in conjunction with professionals and experts in the field of substance abuse.
Our hybrid class and our online independent program consists of 12 classes for the year (one course per 4-5 weeks). Students receive a numerical grade for each course and must earn an 80% or better in each course to graduate. The hybrid students will meet in-class (virtual or live) with the instructor at the beginning of each course and then complete the coursework in online format with live instruction or prerecorded sessions. Our live class is currently virtual learning and our online platform for both our hybrid and online only students is gkmtraininginstitute.thinkific.com.
Completion of this program and clinical internship prepares the SAC student to test for the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counseling Certification- (https://www.adacbga.org/certinfo#cadc).
We also offer ADACBGA-approved clinical supervision for those who need supervised clinical hours to complete their training as a Substance Abuse Counselor and want to apply for the National/ International Counseling Certifications.
We also offer ADACBGA-approved re-certification classes such as Professional Ethics, HIV/AID, Trauma Informed Care, MAT, TeleMental Health.

- Topics and skills include assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client education, and community resources.
- Special issues are addressed including sexual harassment, gender, aging, disabilities, cultural differences, and co-occurring disorders.
- We strongly recommend you are at least one year sober when applying for this program.
